Launch Academy is a nonprofit society in Vancouver, British Columbia. This page explains what happens to information when you visit launchacademy.ca. It is short because this site does very little.
What this site does not do
There are no accounts, no logins for visitors, and no payments. There is no contact form — the contact page is an email address. Nothing you do on this site is stored in our database, and we do not sell, rent or share information about visitors with anyone.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and roughly where they come from. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your approximate location (derived from your IP address), the pages you view, and basic details about your browser and device. We use it to decide what to write and what to fix. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.
If you would rather not be counted, you can block cookies in your browser, use private browsing, or install Google's opt-out extension. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
The newsletter
Our newsletter runs on Beehiiv. The signup box in the footer hands your address straight to Beehiiv, where you confirm the subscription — it never reaches our servers and we never store it. Beehiiv's handling of it is covered by their own privacy policy. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link.
If you email us, we have your message and your address, in our inbox, for as long as we keep the correspondence. That is all that happens to it.
Hosting
The site runs on Cloudflare's network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the requests needed to deliver pages to you and keeps short-lived operational logs for security and reliability.
Children
This site is aimed at founders and people working in technology. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — in particular in Canada under PIPEDA, or in the UK, EEA or Switzerland under the GDPR — you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. Given how little this site collects, the honest answer to most such requests is "an analytics record we cannot link to you by name". Ask us anyway and we will tell you what we have.
Changes
If we add anything that collects more than this page describes, this page changes at the same time, and the date below changes with it.
